Remember, COVID-19 is still around and our schools are experiencing COVID cases. Historically, schools see an increase in cases of illnesses at the beginning of the school year and the cases multiply as the weather gets colder. Let’s not forget how we can do our part to help prevent COVID and other viral illnesses. The Swiss Cheese Model is BACK to help remind us of the mitigation strategies we can employ!
Stay home when ill
Proper masking
Regular hand hygiene
Social distancing
Isolation for those who test positive
Wear a mask for 10 days for a known exposure
Test for COVID at home or at a test site if any symptoms develop (the district is NOT doing testing in schools, including symptomatic testing and pooled testing)
Maintain clean areas, especially high touch surfaces
Improve ventilation
Get vaccinated and boostered.
Should your child test positive for COVID, please notify the school nurse or attendance line. Here is the link to follow the most recent guidance for those in a school setting who test positive and for individuals who have been in close contact with someone who tested positive. If you have any questions regarding the guidance, feel free to reach out to the nurse.
