Updates From The School Nurse

The Flu is Widespread across Massachusetts!!!

We have a number of illnesses such as the flu, colds, coughs, sore throats, and stomach viruses circulating around the school. If your student has moderate to severe symptoms, please keep them home. For students with mild symptoms, please be sure to medicate them at home before school with any over- the -counter cold remedies you feel will make them more comfortable while at school.

Please remember the attendance policy for illnesses:

  • Students must be free from fever for 24Hr. without the use of medications
  • If positive for strep throat, they must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school.
  • Students who have vomited and/or had diarrhea must remain out of school for 24 hours after the last episode
  • Remember to call the attendance line and report your child as absent from school.

Following these precautions can help prevent the spread to other students and allows your child to rest and recover fully.

WASH YOUR HANDS AND COVER COUGHS AND SNEEZES!!  THIS IS THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE!!!!
